Rachael joined the Parents Centre NZ board in December 2022. Rachael is a public health professional specialising non-communicable disease promotion, prevention and care. She has extensive experience in both the not-for-profit and government sectors across Australia and New Zealand.
Rachael has worked with the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth), the National Heart Foundation of Australia, Beyondblue, the Health Promotion Agency | Te Hiringa Hauora and the Cancer Control Agency | Te Aho o Te Kahu. She currently working at Te Aho o Te Kahu leading the delivery of a national clinical cancer quality performance indicator programmme.
She is passionate about the health and wellbeing of mums/māmā, babies/pēpi and families/whānau and at Te Hiringa Hauora she co-developed with māmā, whānau and communities the lived experience maternal mental health approach that went on to inform the agency’s Covid-19 psychosocial response for whānau and the first 1000 days strategy.
Rachael is a mum to two children aged two and five and lives in Wellington with her husband and labrador.
